My name is Magdalena Wieger. I was born in Karlsruhe 1982 and grew up in Nuremberg. I've always been what I am today: Somebody on the search for themselves, in love with art all the way. I have been lead astray, but there were many people to help me, identify my abilities and develop them, motivating me, but also putting me in my place every now and then. All the constructive criticism from friends and masters and my persistent will to grow, enabled me to create all this right here. I'm one of those people that never listened in school, drawing the teacher instead, one that'd still run around the forest with a wooden sword at age 14, getting lost in the world of 'Final Fantasy' and one that puts so much value into her dreams, that she writes them down for about half an hour each and every consecutive day. I've always lived for 'the other world' and how on earth I actually managed to qualify for university is still close to a miracle for me!
I dealt with Larp (Live action role play) a lot, only had friends that'd, like I myself, float in different spheres We dreamt together, wrote stories, practised improvised acting, talked gibberish and lived our dreams together. Many of the stories we came up with seem so real in my memory As if they had actually happened. The world was real, we were real, so where does one draw the line? Who delivers adequate proof to me, that it wasn't the way it was The way I still see it right in front of me!?
Then my training as a stone sculptor, my academic design studies and my master craftsman's diploma came along. Society's proof of my abilities, a certified 'Ok' for my ego and the foundation for a sophisticated part-time job to keep me alive, whilst following my real purpose. I grew older, became more qualified, tried to adapt and put on masks. I moved away from myself, only to ultimately return, rip those masks/faces off and shit on whatever might want to lead me onto deceptive trails again, disguised as reason. My imagination isn't only blooming, it carries overly ripe fruits... And right now, it is harvest time!
